Ken Scarlatelli Environmental Scientist
Ken ScarlatelliManaging Partner, Senior Environmental Scientist
Ken Scarlatelli is a Certified Wildlife Biologist and Senior Professional Wetland Scientist with forty years of experience. As the Supervisor of Natural Resources for New York City for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Ken managed the Wildlife, Fisheries, Marine Resources, Lands & Forest, and Habitat Protection Departments. He also served as the Natural Resources Supervisor for the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission.
Ken has served as a Program Manager for several major engineering firms, including Louis Berger & Associates, Woodward-Clyde Consultants (now AECOM), Parsons Brinckerhoff (now WSP), and Deloitte. An advocate for educating the next generations of environmentalists, Ken enjoys teaching and designing curricula at all levels and has taught at the Hillside School, Immaculate Heart Academy, Felician College, and Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Judy is a results-driven environmental and natural resources professional with over 30 years of experience. Her major strengths include technical competencies in environmental documentation, ecological planning and assessment, regulatory permitting, wetlands and resource mitigation activities, and green stormwater infrastructure (GSI). She has held positions with the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission, implementing the District’s multi-million-dollar wetlands mitigation projects and tidal marsh restoration activities. She also was responsible for providing guidance and regulatory review for major public projects throughout New Jersey on behalf of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Land Use Regulation.

William is a problem solver that thrives on creating aesthetically pleasing solutions, even for the most challenging landscapes. His design work ranges from large, commercial projects, such as golf courses and apartment complexes, to residential master plans, property renovations, and creative plantscapes. In 1995, he established Biosphere Landscape Architecture to follow his passion for designing, building, and sharing beautiful landscapes ever since.

Ray is Certified as an Ecosystem Restoration Practitioner and Wildlife Biologist with 50 years of experience in ecosystem assessment and management of various project types and environments that extend from the tropics to the arctic. His primary focus is ecosystem restoration, with 25-years dedicated to the PSEG Estuary Enhancement Program, the US’s most prominent privately funded tidal wetland restoration project. After remediation, he has also led restoration efforts to create functioning ecosystems at hazardous waste sites.

Kerry is an environmental scientist who previously worked for the NYSDEC, Marine Resources Division. She specializes in outreach, education, and communication with commercial and recreational fishermen, including SAFIS (Standard Atlantic Fisheries Information Systems) training. Additionally, she is versed in fishery compliance, conducting seine net surveys, marine habitat, and wetland surveys. She is currently working with a UC-Davis program dedicated to conserving the endangered species of Delta Smelt.

Courtney has professional experience in sustainable development, wildlife handling/management, science communication, recreation ecology, biodiversity surveying, and backcountry science. Her thesis involves working with the US Forest Service to employ ecological, wildlife, and social sciences to research the impacts of dispersed recreation on wildlife habitat use and assess the efficacy of dispersed camping ambassadors in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. She is obtaining concurrent MS degrees in Zoology and Environment/Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming.

Alan is a dedicated conservation biologist specializing in native plants. Alan is the Head Gardener at the Clay Pit Pond State Park and Board Member of the Native Plant Society of Staten Island, hosting native plant swaps and educational tours on local ecology. In addition, as an ecologic gardener and wildlife/vegetation monitor, for the Brooklyn Bridge Park and the NYDEC, he maintained native species gardens. He is passionate about leading educational efforts about the importance of native plants.

Daisy Rivera Environmental Scientist

Daisy is an environmental policy and wetlands expert specializing in developing ecological education plans, implementing sustainability programs, and rare/endangered species surveys. While at the Hudson River Park Trust, Greenburgh Nature Center, and GreenPace, she developed sustainability programs and a comprehensive curriculum. A scientist at heart, she also was a team researcher with the NYSDEC, pioneering the study of a recently identified Atlantic Coast Leopard Frog study.
