Riverwalk Residential Development , Ossining New York

Hired by Riverwalk Development, LLC, to develop a comprehensive site plan around a proposed six-story residential building within an existing wooded 6.5-acre parcel inundated by stormwater runoff from an adjacent lot creating a poor quality wetland with significant contamination and invasive vegetation. Created a pedestrian path with seating and bird blinds that will ultimately link the site to an existing nature preserve, including:

  • Sealing and removing contaminated soils
  • Positioning the building over the wetland
  • Controlling the stormwater
  • Developed a compensatory wetland to handle the stormwater volume
  • Assessing and improving water quality standards.
  • Mitigating eroding banks by using soft and hard armoring techniques.

Greenburgh Nature Center, New York

Developed a 2-acre meadow following a campaign to eliminate non-native exotics. Improvements include a custom-built “Butterfly House,” beehives, and an outdoor classroom. In addition, updated the approach to the primary facility of the Manor House to include absorbent materials, native plants, and custom handrails.

Rockleigh Reforestation Project, New Jersey

To create an open lawn for their development, a developer proposed to remove 186 trees exceeding the limit of disturbance on a 2-acre site. The town’s planning board moved to require a Landscape Architect to be selected to restore the trees and hired us to develop a plan to compensate for the loss and oversee the reforestation work through environmental assessments.
