Saw Mill Creek Wetland Mitigation Bank and Wetlands Park
Collaborated with the New York City Parks Department to preserve and restore Staten Island’s salt marshes and wetlands and create the City’s first-ever park devoted exclusively to various species of birds, reptiles, amphibians, pollinators, and mammals. Oversaw the planting of native species, removal of invasive species, and channel excavation restored salt marshes, mudflats, and waterways.
Represented the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) on the Interagency Mitigation Bank Review Team (MBRT) to advocate creating the first Wetland Mitigation Bank in New York City. Responsible for determining mitigation ratios for projects impacting regulated Wetlands and Waters of New York State.
The EcoLogic Solutions team has considerable success in creating and regulating individual and combined compensatory wetland mitigation projects and wetland mitigation banks, and in negotiating mitigation bank credit purchases.
